Legend
Most people don't actually own their money. They own a number on a screen that a bank or broker can freeze, delay, or restrict the moment it suits them. Legend’s mobile app changes that, letting anyone trade, earn yield, and borrow against their crypto assets on open financial infrastructure, with no one able to freeze their funds or block a transaction. The team behind Compound built it because they knew the better system already existed. It just needed an experience regular people could actually use.
They came to us with the name and a clear point of view, but no clear path forward visually. Early explorations pulled in several directions at once: the ordered precision of NASA graphics and Swiss wayfinding, the surreal quality of seeing objects within landscapes, the motion of liquidity on a platform where assets never sit idle. We went wide, sharing work week by week in a concentrated creative sprint across brand and digital, letting resonance do the editing. What emerged lived in the tension between all three.
What landed was a visual language built around imagined landscapes — AI-generated environments rendered with a filmic, mid-century warmth that feels nothing like the cold, saturated defaults of crypto. Product UI sits inside these scenes rather than in front of them. In one scene, a phone is framed by lavender fields and rocky terrain, the purple accent in the interface echoing the flowers below.
Coordinates mark the corners, a quiet nod to the wayfinding logic embedded in the name. A Swiss-influenced type system grounds the expressiveness, keeping everything distinct and precise without tipping into the sterile. Altogether, the experience suggests a financial peace of mind — this is what it feels like when the numbers on the screen are actually yours.
